Unprecedented Number of Calloway's Nursery Employees Receive Certification
This summer 13 Calloway's Nursery employees earned a Texas Certified Nursery Professional or Texas Master Certified Nursery Professional designation from the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association.
FORT WORTH, TX, September 11, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Texas Certified Landscape Professional (TCNP) and Texas Master Certified Landscape Professional (TMCNP) programs, sponsored by the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association, certify individuals in the nursery and landscape industry who possess a high degree of knowledge and skill in horticulture and the retail nursery business. The certification establishes the recipient as a professional. To apply for this certification, the applicant must meet one of several stringent educational or work requirements, and then pass a rigorous exam. Individuals who already have earned his or her TCNP can work to earn the TMCNP designation, which further enhances the skills and knowledge he or she have already attained.
The 13 recently certified individuals bring the total of Calloway's and Cornelius Nursery certified employees to 69. Calloway's employs more certified nursery professionals than any other Texas garden center. Because of this the company is able to offer extensive knowledge, professionalism, and superior customer service to all who frequent Calloway's and Cornelius Nursery.
"Becoming a TMCNP allows me to further my education and gives me the opportunity to stay current with the horticultural trends. Having a TMCNP on staff at every Calloway's store gives the customer confidence in that we are a reliable source of information and ideas concerning their landscape," Jenny Begnaud, Assistant Manager of Calloway's Nursery on Preston Road in Plano, said.
"A big part of becoming a TMCNP was to give credibility to myself when helping customers and answering their questions. It lets them know that they are getting their answers from someone who has taken the time to learn the correct information in the horticulture industry. It has also allowed me to be a valuable leader and challenges me to continue my education and understanding of this industry," Jacob Swift, Assistant Manager of Calloway's Nursery in South Arlington, commented.
